Do you have time for a coffee break?

Do you have time for a coffee break?

I asked this question on social media the other day. A number of people indicated that they didn’t have even five to ten minutes to themselves during the course of the day.

Friends, this is not okay.

Everyone deserves some time to themselves during the day.

No matter whether you work outside the home, work for yourself, or don’t officially work at all, it’s likely that you are busy throughout your day. But it’s not okay for you to be so busy that you can’t take even a short break to rest, and to gather your thoughts.

For many people, the holiday season (now in full swing) means that many more things to do—and that much less time for rest.

My suggestion is that you prioritize your health and your desires,

— and ditch the stuff that doesn’t light you up.

Does that sound radical?

If so, then you have probably been neglecting yourself and your needs for a long, long time. Just because you have neglected yourself for years, it doesn’t mean that it’s okay to continue.

Let this be the year that you make a turn toward self-kindness. If you can’t conceive of how to do that—how to speak more kindly to yourself or tame your inner mean girl, or how to allow your own needs to matter as much as those of other people, I invite you to get in touch.

Whether it’s pointing you toward existing (free) resources, inviting you to free group coaching sessions, or working with you one-on-one or in one of my coaching programs, I am here to help.
