Welcome to Eclipse season
What changes are you ready to make? The eclipses are here to galvanize those into action, sometimes whether you are ready or not. Eclipses come in pairs: one at the full moon, one at the new moon.
You can work with eclipse energy by being more conscious of which signs the eclipses are in, and using the “themes” associated with those signs as a guide.
First up: The Lunar Eclipse in Virgo
Ah yes, Virgo. Known for liking systems and organization, Virgo can sometimes tip into perfectionism, which isn't always helpful. Have you been self-critical or believing that you have to "earn" your worth? That's another way this energy might be showing up in your life. It's time to give stinking thinking the old heave-ho.
When is the last time you looked at your daily routines to see if they are still working for you and supporting you? Where have you been tolerating clutter or stale energy? What can you clear out of your life that will make space for better health and habits?
Those are basically the question being asked by this week's Lunar Eclipse in Virgo, which takes place late Thursday night into early Friday (times depend on your time zone, and whether you are looking at start/end times or "totality"). Check here to see what timing applies to you, assuming that NASA's website is still up and running.
It's a good day to declutter your house (and your inbox, and your schedules). It's a great day to rest, and to remember that you are already worthy, just because you exist.
Next up: The Partial Solar Eclipse in Aries
Whether they are visible to you depends on where you live, and of course what the weather is. The partial solar eclipse will take place on March 29th, and may be visible to people living in the Northeast US and eastern Canada, as well as much of Europe—check this NASA page to see if you live where you might be able to see it.
With the partial solar eclipse falling in Aries, you may feel challenged to take action on things you've been avoiding. You may also find you have a lot of desire to get up and go—just be careful that you take some time to consider your actions before you take them. Aries people are great at starting shit, but don't always follow through with the finish (I've got an Aries sun, ask me how I know).
Ruled by Mars, Aries can be a bit of a hot head, and can charge into things without a plan. So . . . maybe don't do that. Instead, when the day comes, take some time to journal about what you'd like to change in your life, and be a bit more considered about things.
The best play might be to prep for the energy boost that is likely to come with the partial solar eclipse on March 29th by thinking about things you want to start. Make a plan for how you’d like to get started and what the first steps are, then use that energy to launch yourself into planned action.
Reminder: There are two events coming up in the next ten days. This Thursday at 7 pm EDT is the donation-based Salon featuring therapist Rachael Jamison as my guest. She will be talking about how you can bolster your strength— physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—to deal with our current world. Sign up here.
And there is an Equinox Equilibrium workshop coming up the following Thursday, March 20th at 9 am EDT to observe the balance of light and dark within, and to celebrate the start of Spring with a guided visualization, journaling pages, and a small communal ritual. Info and sign up here.
