Believe in your dreams
On my desk, I have a print of a fairy holding a magic wand by an artist named Peri, who owns Off the Wall Art in Cape May, NJ. I’ve had it for nearly 20 years now.
Underneath the image is the phrase “Believe in your dreams”.
I look at it every time I am in my office or at my desk, and it’s a tangible reminder to dream big, and to remember that the Universe is conspiring big to grant my wishes and help me make my dreams come true.
When I began this business, just about a year ago, I dreamed about what the business might do and become. I dreamed of creating a decluttering course to help women rid themselves of excess baggage and uncover their own dreams. Of helping women to find their vision of the future. Of making an impact in the larger world, though at the time I didn’t know how.
Friend, I created that coaching course, which is so much more than just a “how to declutter” class. And I am now living out another dream that arose along the way by writing a book to share the ideas in the course with people who aren’t quite ready to commit to a six-week coaching program.
I dreamed of helping women to uncover their vision of the future, so in addition to coaching women one-on-one and in The Decluttering Course, I created a Future You Meditation that enables you to go deep in a guided meditation, and to visit yourself and your home five years from now, so that you can see what your life might look like then. You can nab your copy of it here.
And that dream of making an impact in the larger world? It’s also coming true, because I believed in my dream, and took aligned action. I have an article in the Summer Issue of Mantra Wellness Magazine, which is about to hit stores nationwide here in the United States.
The title of the article is “Express Yourself”, and it is all about how we sometimes lose ourselves along the way, and how choosing to change what we wear can help us find our way back to ourselves. It includes a poem I wrote a few years ago, entitled “Frump”. The poem starts this way
I wonder sometimes about my decisions in this life.
I wonder, too, how many choices are left to be made—
Can I start over again today? Redefine what I have
become? Is there time? And if so, do I have the will?
The poem is one that I wrote about 6 years ago, just after I turned 50. It explores how drab I’d allowed my life and wardrobe to become, how I had limited myself or allowed others to limit me. In other words, there’s quite a lot in this piece that explains how and why I ended up becoming a life coach and starting Actually-I-Can, Inc.
I think that the Summer issue (Issue #32) of Mantra Wellness Magazine goes on sale on or about July 12th, though I will of course update you once I know for sure it’s on shelves. It is carried at Barnes & Noble, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Costco, Mother’s, and at a number of other supermarkets and stores that carry magazines. The issues are always beautiful and full of inspiration and support.
Needless to say, I am over the moon at having an article in a magazine that I like so much, which has national distribution. And I am hopeful that the article will help other women in this world to find their way back to themselves.
If you would like to work with me one-on-one to explore how to reclaim yourself or to have some accountability in your journey to step into living your life more fully, please get in touch. I have five slots open in July for one-on-one coaching, and I would LOVE to get to know you and to cheer you on as you reclaim your fierce self!
